This Self Defense Camp will cover 4 days/8 hours of no nonsense and highly effective self defense techniques and strategies taken from over 22 martial arts as Coach Dave Carter teaches you techniques that work and have been proven on the streets, and the battlefield. Taking the best of the best moves from the most realistic, tested, and definitive martial arts of all time, from martial arts like Muay Thai kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Submission Wrestling, Boxing, Jeet Kune Do Concepts and the Filipino Martial Arts of Escrima, Arnis, and Kali, this workshop will teach you only the best!!! Learn the techniques taught to military, and special forces operatives all over the world to keep their soldiers alive and kicking, and how they can help you stay safe and protected anywhere.

This Workshop will have components for every level from the novice to the expert, all clearly laid out in a logical, and practical manner, so don't miss this incredibly opportunity to learn this unique style of Self Defense and personal Protection

Day 1 January 19th : How to Control and Manipulate the body
Control points on the human body, how to hit with your hands, feet, knees, and elbows, along with how to knockout, choke, and throw larger opponents. The focus of the days techniques originate from Muay Thai kickboxing, Freestyle Wrestling, Brazilian jiu Jitsu, Jeet Kune Do, Kali, Judo, and Chin Na Kung Fu.

Day 2 January 26th : Weapons
How to deal with common weapons like sticks, knives, bottles, and guns and also how to use and create improvised weapons using things in your surroundings to give yourself the edge. The focus of the days techniques will be to show the strengths and weaknesses of each weapon so that we can properly defend ourselves. The moves originate from the Filipino blade arts of Arnis and Kali, along with Jeet Kune Do.

Day 3 February 2nd : Ground work
Dealing with being on the ground, how to strike from the ground, how to create space so you can get up, how and where to hit from the bottom, how to reverse positions from bottom to top. We will not only be going over ground fighting one on one but how it changes when more than one person is attacking you at the same time. The focus of the days techniques originate from Freestyle Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Jeet Kune Do, Kali, Judo, and Muay Thai's knees and elbows.

Day 4 February 9th : Putting it all together
Understanding how a fight can go from standing to the ground and back again and when to use what. The final day will be a combination of drills and questions and answers to fill in any gaps from the previous sessions.

Throughout all of this we will focus on information and knowledge to make you more street smart to keep you out of bad situations and to give principals to follow when things start going bad, on the street, in a bar, on the subway, while jogging, and while traveling abroad

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR/COACH:

David Carter has trained in various martial arts for over 10 years ranging from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Savate Thai X-Training, Combat Submission Wrestling, Freestyle Wrestling, Jeet Kune Do Concepts, Filipino Martial Arts, Shooto, and Jun Fan Gung Fu among others, styles proven affective over the years on the street, and in such events as the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and it's Japanese counterpart Pride FC. A competitor and champion in several Kickboxing, Submission Grappling, and Mixed Martial Arts events, Dave has also battle tested all of his techniques in the REAL WORLD as a security specialist and consultant since 1997 when he started handling security for parties in college and was later asked to work all over DC and VA in clubs and bars for his Security, Personal Protection, and Resolution skills. With all of this he possesses a unique understanding of what works in the ring and what works on the street.

As well as being a martial artist David has discovered what does and doesn't work inside the gym. How to manage weight for competitions and for life, and get the utmost out of his training, and he brings that to his clients in a simple no nonsense manner that cuts to the root of the peoples problems and corrects them.

His students are from all walks of life from teenagers, college students, stay at home moms, software engineers, law enforcement, all branches of the military, the disabled and Senior citizens.
